Spotlight on local resident and volunteer Harry Adams
I have been working alongside Grow Batheaston for nearly a year now and it has been an incredible project and journey so far. Recently I have been helping to de-weed and build pathways alongside the group and it has really transformed the forest garden into something incredible, it's truly been a lovely project to watch grow. Being one of the younger volunteers the representation of teenagers and young people in general is something I feel strongly about developing, it's a great experience and it definitely helps as a means to try something new. Building and helping a local gardening project was not something I imagined myself doing once I joined sixth form but that
has most certainly changed, one of the things I am so grateful for when helping is the incredible atmosphere and people at the project, we all get on so well and there isn't a time where I do not want to go. What started as a gold Duke of Edinburgh volunteering activity has developed into a passion, I find it takes my mind off of the stresses of A-levels and is a great way to meet new people and take on new hobbies.
I plan to continue until my A-levels are over and to finish the project, I cannot wait for the day when it is finished.
