Our story so far
Following the first lockdown period in 2020, Grow Batheaston was formed by an enthusiastic group of Batheaston residents. We launched a raft of projects, attracting another wave of local volunteers.
In 2023 Grow Batheaston became a registered charity, a secure footing to continue and expand our activities.
Over the past four years these activities have included:
improving our village environment by planting fruit trees and wild flowers
pop up markets, Christmas fairs and a food and community fair
seed swaps and plant sales, apple juicing and wreath making workshops
junior football coaching and walking football for the over 50s
creation of a Forest Garden in the Secret Garden by the riverside
annual art trail with creative workshops
St Catherine’s brook clean-up session
a festival celebrating the return of beavers to the River Avon with talks, films and workshops
establishing several special interest WhatsApp groups to share knowledge
and … in the pipe line … tree trails in and around the village
We are proud of what we have achieved in a short time and excited about what we might do in the next four years.
