Celebrating the harvest season, Grow Batheaston are hosting a Community and Food Festival event on Saturday 16th September 12-5pm. Following the success of our pop-up markets last year we want to bring you the best of local food and artisan producers . We have over 25 stallholders joining us to share with you their wonderful food, such as Bianco Rosso Pizza, Siam Kitchen, Loaf shack and Marshfield Ice cream. Not forgetting our local market garden - Bathfeaston. We have local artists and crafters sharing their beautiful wares. Building community connections, we have a number of organisations active in our area - National Trust, Bathscape, and Bathampton Women's institute - not forgetting Grow Batheaston too! There will be live music from Runny Snott band and a children's entertainer.
The GB volunteers will be running the cafe - grab yourself afternoon tea, some seasonal soup or a pint of Kettlesmith Ale/Dick Willows Cider. A new addition for us is a Reuse and Recycle stall - offering quality clothes, books and bric-a-brac. REQUEST for items - if you would like to donate to this stall contact Emily via ejmlwright@gmail.com to arrange delivery/collection. Every donor will receive vouchers which can then be used against items you want from the stall.
I want to say a big thank you to all our Grow Batheaston volunteers for your support over the last few years - you are truly amazing. Volunteering locally is such a rewarding experience, and it doesn't matter if you only have a couple of hours a month, we can find something which fits with your passions and experience - I have learnt so much from my fellow volunteers and enjoy an inviting and wonderful community spirit. Come and speak to us on the GB stall if you are curious about how you too can be involved.
All the profits from the Community and Food festival will be re-invested in the GB charity's community projects such as the Forest Garden (in the Secret Garden, Riverside, Batheaston) and the children's weekly football club. We have some exciting ideas for 2024 - what this space!
